Grade A / USDA Shield

The grade classification of an egg is determined by the interior and exterior quality of the egg. Eggland's Best Classic Eggs are graded on site according to standards established by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Eggland's Best that exceed the USDA basic standards. On-site USDA grading and inspecting is not mandatory for ordinary egg producers. Eggland's Best also requires that all eggs are processed in Safe Quality Food (SQF) level 3 certified facilities.

Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and American Diabetes Association

Eggland's Best is the only brand of fresh shell eggs granted permission by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and the American Diabetes Association to carry exchange list verifications on its packaging. The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics is the world's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals, committed to improving the nation's health. The American Diabetes Association provides objective information and delivers services to those individuals living with diabetes. Eggland's Best Eggs contain a similar mix of carbohydrates, protein, fat, and calories that can be substituted for other foods by people on special or restricted diets. The exchange calculations are based on nutrient analysis, serving size, and ingredient composition. The exchanges provided conform to the 2008 Choose Your Food: Exchange Lists for Diabetes. Eggland's Best Eggs are the only nationally branded fresh shell eggs granted permission by the American Dietetic Association and the American Diabetes Association to carry exchange list verifications on their packaging. Eggland's Best has been permitted to print the following statement on its carton:

Certified Kosher

Eggland's Best Organic Eggs are certified organic by agencies accredited by the USDA. The grains used for our hens' diets are produced on land that has been free from the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers for a minimum of 3 years. Genetically engineered crops are not permitted. Hens must be maintained without hormones, antibiotics, and other intrusive drugs. Eggland's Best Organic Eggs meet or exceed USDA organic production standards.

American Vegetarian Association

Eggland's Best is a Certified Vegetarian Product, and listed as the "Recommended Egg,” by the American Vegetarian Association (AVA). Eggland's Best is the first and only egg brand to receive both recognitions. The AVA certification program enables vegetarian-minded individuals to make accurate food choices.
