Kim Kardashian's 2022 Met Gala look came with a very strict diet plan as the reality star revealed she actually had to change her body in order to fit into Marilyn Monroe's most iconic dress. The reality star wore the same dress the movie legend wore during her infamous performance of “Happy Birthday Mr. President” for President John F. Kennedy at Madison Square Garden on May 19, 1962, just three months before her death. So It turns out Kim's trip to Orlando, Florida with her boyfriend Pete Davidson last week to visit the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum was actually so she could take a look at Monroe's dress in person and make sure she could actually fit into it ahead of fashion's biggest night. Although Kim clearly managed to pull it off, it must have been a pretty tight squeeze as Monroe reportedly has to be sewn into the dress which was created by Jean Louis based on a sketch by Bob Mackie and originally cost her $1,440. For the Met Gala, Kim chose to let the legendary gown shine all on its own, keeping the rest of the look simple by pulling her freshly-dyed blonde hair back into a sleek bun and accessorizing with only a pair of Cartier Essential Lines 18k white gold and diamond earrings and a white fur coat worn around her elbows. She also revealed in an interview on the red carpet that it was no easy process slipping into Monroe's old couture. She explained to Vogue, “The idea really came to me after the gala in September last year. I thought to myself, what would I have done for the American theme if it had not been the Balenciaga look? What’s the most American thing you can think of?
