A single medium-sized egg has 186 mg of cholesterol, 62% of the daily recommended amount (RDI). The white is primarily protein and low in cholesterol. Therefore, a limit of 2–6 yolks each week is commonly recommended. Studies demonstrate that the response to eating whole eggs depends on the individual. For example, eggs did not affect total or bad LDL cholesterol in 70% of the participants. These indicators do, however, rise somewhat in 30% of persons.
