Understanding an Egg Fast on the Keto Diet

Have you ever hit a weight loss plateau and now you’re frustrated? Have no fear because there is a way to break through a weight loss on the Keto Diet. The secret to losing weight is cutting out the carbs and the sugar. It’s just that simple. That’s why these low carb diets work. An egg fast is no different than the beef and butter fast really. Both basically work the same. You limit your carb intake will consuming a protein with a fat and you will lose weight. You just have to decide which one you like better. Or switch it up and do a little each. The goal is protein consumed with fats and little to no carbs whatsoever. Here is how to understand an egg fast on the Keto diet and use it to kickstart your weight loss.

Basics of the Egg Diet

The best part of understanding the egg fast is that it pretty much explains itself. Essentially, for 3 days, you only eat 1200 calories. Wait, you may think this sounds crazy. During this fast, you’re eating all fat. The fast consists of eggs, cheese, and butter. The pure fat comes in the form of either butter, olive oil, or coconut oil. – Make sure you eat an egg within 30 minutes of waking up.

-Make sure you eat every 3-5 hours.

– The egg fast is usually done in 3-5 day cycles.

So, while some people just read that last paragraph and freaked out a little bit, wondering “how will I only eat eggs and butter for three days?” Have no fear! There are so many ways you can make this work for you! Here are a few ideas for how you can switch up the egg fast to work in your favor and still stay within the guidelines.

It’s amazing how creative you can get when you need to. Using eggs and switching up the way you eat them is possible, you just have to get a little creative.

What you need to do

When you start the Egg Fast, there are some simple rules you need to follow.

Rule #1. Eat at least 2 eggs for every meal.

Rule #2. Eat 3-5 meals of at least 2 eggs per day.

Rule #3. Eat at least 6 ounces of full-fat cheese per day.

Rule #4. You’ll need to drink at least 100 ounces of water a day. Rule #5. Per each egg you eat, you’ll need to have a teaspoon of butter with every egg. You can also choose to eat sugar-free mayo.

Egg Fast on and Off

When it comes to the egg fast, you don’t want to just do the egg fast, you want to switch it up. Although some people do the egg fast for a month at a time. When you do take a break, you want to the LC or Keto, to stay on track.
