Is Costco bacon any good?

3. The quality of the bacon – The Costco Kirkland Signature Bacon never disappoints. You get nice thick, even strips of bacon that are usually quite lean compare to other brands (relative to other bacons I mean – we're basically talking about strips of fat here!).

Our favorite Costco bacon to buy!

Please note that this review was not paid for or sponsored by any third party. The opinions in this review are strictly my own. I am not affiliated with Costco or any of its suppliers. I am just a fan of the company. I write these honest reviews to help my fellow shoppers. So I’m not going to bore you with a full review on the Kirkland Signature Reduced Salt Premium Bacon because bacon usually tastes like… bacon. With that being said, I do want to point out three reasons why I prefer the Kirkland Signature bacon over other brands: 1. The flavor of the bacon – The Costco Kirkland Signature Bacon has a really nice smoked flavor, so if you like a little smokiness to your bacon, give it a try. Despite having reduced sodium, this bacon is super flavorful. 2. The price of the bacon – The price of this bacon fluctuates. I’ve found the four packs can cost anywhere from $14.99 Canadian to $21.99 Canadian. For that price, you get four separate 500 gram packages. Most other bacon packages I’ve noticed seen only have about 375 grams of bacon and can cost more per pack. 3. The quality of the bacon – The Costco Kirkland Signature Bacon never disappoints. You get nice thick, even strips of bacon that are usually quite lean compare to other brands (relative to other bacons I mean – we’re basically talking about strips of fat here!). With the reduced sodium bacon, two strips of bacon only has 150 miligrams of sodium, which really isn’t that much. Now, onto my favorite bacon cooking tip. I used to try to cook bacon in a frying pan and it always ended in disaster. Lots of mess and unevenly cooked bacon. Some strips would be nearly burned and others would be raw. Now I cook my bacon on a cookie sheet in the oven and it has changed my life. That sounds like an exaggeration, but it really is that much better. This method pretty much eliminates dealing with the grease and mess of cooking bacon. If you’ve never tried it before, you have to! You’ll be pleasantly surprised. 1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

2. Place parchment paper over top of the aluminum foil.

3. Lay bacon flat on baking tray, trying not to overlap the strips. You can lay them quite close to one another. 4. Bake in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until you’ve reached your desired doneness. I like my bacon well done, nearly crispy. Pat the bacon with a paper towel to soak up any excess grease and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to remove more excess grease. 5. To clean up, simply pull each corner of aluminum foil up so you trap the grease and continue to fold it up into a little rectangular grease packet.
