This keto Nutella is silky smooth, filled with a deep chocolate flavor that has hints of hazelnut to it, and it's sweetened to perfection - without any added sugar of course. Honestly, it tastes pretty darn close to the store-bought kind, but it has only 1 NET CARB per serving!

THE BEST KETO NUTELLA

Nutella is one of the most unique spreads that exists. It's like a cross between a thick rich chocolate sauce and a smooth creamy nut butter. But, to no surprise, the store-bought stuff is super high in carbs and added sugars, which isn't ideal if you're doing a low carb diet, like keto. So, if you like Nutella, and have wanted a low carb and sugar free version, this keto Nutella recipe has you covered. It's just as rich, thick, & creamy, as the "normal" stuff, but has no sugar added to it. In fact, this healthy Nutella has just 1 NET CARB per serving and 2 total carbs! And you can spread it on pretty much everything and anything! One of my go-to's is putting it on these keto waffles and these keto pancakes, but I'll go over a few more of my favorites later on.

INGREDIENTS

For this recipe, you'll need just 5 ingredients. And they're all simple, healthy ingredients that you'll either have at home, or can easily get at the store!

Here's everything you'll need:

2 Cups Hazelnuts

1-2 Tbsps MCT Oil (macadamia or avocado oil work too)

¼ Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

4 Tbsps Confectioners Swerve

As I said, some pretty simple, wholesome Nutella ingredients to make this healthier version of the classic spread. And you can use the cocoa powder and confectioners swerve to make this keto Wendy's frosty!

MAKING THIS NUTELLA SUGAR FREE

The most impressive part about this recipe is that it has that delightful sweetness that you would expect from Nutella. And to make this Nutella sugar free, low carb, and healthy, we'll be using a zero carb sweetener. With that said, my go-to is confectioners Swerve since it has 0 calories, 0 carbs, and the same sweetness as regular powdered sugar. Another option I like a lot is Lakanto's powdered monk fruit sweetener. It also has no carbs - or calories - and the same sweetness level as sugar as well. So, if all you've got at home is Lakanto's monk fruit it will work just as well.

If this is your first time making a spread, you have nothing to worry about. The process is very straightforward, with no difficult steps.

And I'm confident that your sugar free Nutella will turn out perfect.

So, get out the ingredients you need, and let's get to it!

STEP 1: PREPARING THE HAZELNUTS

First, preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150°C).

Then add all of the hazelnuts to a large baking sheet and make sure they're lying flat. Pop it in the oven and roast for about 10-12 minutes, or until they become super fragrant. When they're good to go, take the hazelnuts out of the oven and transfer them to a large sealable jar while they're still hot. Then shake the jar until most of the skin comes off of the nuts. Next, put the hazelnuts back onto the baking sheet and remove any skin that is still attached to the nuts. And if you can't remove the skin from a couple of them, it's perfectly normal. So I usually snack on those while making the recipe instead of using them to make the Nutella.

STEP 2: CREATING THE NUTELLA

Now that the hazelnuts are ready, add them to your food processor and process the nuts for about 10 minutes - or until they turn into creamy hazelnut butter. By the way, make sure to scrape the sides of the food processor periodically during the blending process. So, once the hazelnut butter is ready, add the cocoa powder, confectioners swerve, vanilla extract, MCT oil, and salt to the food processor. Then, process everything until a thick and almost silky smooth chocolatey consistency forms.

STEP 3: FINISHING UP

Now that the Nutella is ready, you can pour it into a large sealable glass jar, or a few small ones. Then, you can spread some of it on whatever you want - or just grab a spoon, and eat it right out of the jar! By the way, I like to keep any leftovers in the fridge. I think keeping it chilled just helps with the overall texture of this homemade Nutella. Having said that, it will stay good in the fridge for up to a month. So, after you make it, you'll have some of this deliciousness on hand for whenever the cravings hit!
