Can Kidney Stones Go Away on Their Own?

Kidney stones develop in about one out of 11 Americans. They tend to be more prevalent among men, diabetics, and obese people. Small kidney stones don’t typically cause problems, and you might not feel any pain or any symptoms. Larger ones can cause severe pain, but most stones pass on their own. Dehydration poses a high risk for forming kidney stones. We recommend that you increase your water intake to 12 glasses a day. Once your stone passes, continue to drink at least 8-12 glasses every day. If you notice that your urine is a dark yellow, you're showing signs of dehydration. It should be very light in color.
