What Makes This Recipe Great

So many recipes call for bread crumbs. They are such an easy way to bind together a recipe or add a crispy coating. Bread, however, has a ton of carbs, so I’ve tried out a bunch of alternatives. There are so many substitutes for panko breadcrumbs out there: crushed cornflakes, coconut flakes, crushed pretzels, cracker crumbs, crushed potato chips, crushed tortilla chips, and more! These definitely add that crispy texture, but many of them are full of carbs! I was looking for a low-carb substitute for panko bread crumbs and I found the most delicious alternative! Ingredient Notes

Pork Rinds: This recipe calls for 4 2.5oz bags of plain salted pork rinds. Make more or less depending on your needs.

Recipe Step by Step

In your food processor, blend 1 bag at a time until fine bread crumbs. Repeat with the remaining 4 bags.

Expert Tips

Storage: Store in an airtight container, I prefer this 1.5-quart container.

Serving: Use as a 1:1 ratio substitute for any recipe that calls for panko or regular breadcrumbs. Flavors: Make sure you get salt pork rinds, and not a flavor like BBQ or Jalapeno, etc.
